My not always graceful journey to become a better runner, lose some weight and have some fun.

Where Are My Posts?
Hmm...strange, although I have been quite the slacker, I did post 1 bit in the beginning of April. Well, to recap, I tore my ACL skiing and now I have Pre-Patellar Bursitis also known as housewives knee. It sucks. I can hardly do anything and I am cranky. What sucks even more is that I got into the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco and there is no way I will be able to run it. I could have used the extra training time and to be honest I may never run again (ok, that's an exaggeration). It's funny though, even with my Darth Vador like breathing and slow time, I truly miss running. I am almost panicky that I will not be able to run a mile by the time I am all healed. I guess I am a runner after all...

Ummm...it's official, I'm a slacker
So I am a TOTAL slacker!! I am back to work for about a month and I am not nearly as active as I had been (or as up to date with my posting)...
I had to postpone my marathon with TNT, things were a little crazy and I needed to find a job, so my focus switched from fundraising to job hunting. I am most likely going to run the Hamptons Marathon with TNT so I am still running for a cause, just not in April.

Who needs a job when you can run all day!
Sorry for the lack of posts, it's been a pretty busy few weeks. I am no longer working, which to be honest has been a godsend!! I needed some time to refocus and figure out what it is that I really want to do with my life. I am considering early retirement....
The running has been going really well!! I'm scheduled for 10 miles this weekend and have been trying to get my weekly miles in. Today I ran 3 and am on my way for a 20mi bike ride. See....who needs work...
I have been skiing a ton, which cuts into my running, but to be honest I would rather ski!! Just got back from Butternut which is a great small mountain and am planning to go up to Jiminy for the weekend (after the 10 miles).

Happy 2008
Back from sking and back to reality! I hope everyone had a great New Year!
I had a great week off and skied really well. I only ran once though, and haven't even attempted to run since I've been back - YIKES!!!
Hopefully the run on Sat will go OK!!

7am and SNOWING!!!
Whew!! 5 miles with the team in the wet morning snow!!
Today was an early run at Stony Brook Univ for a 5 mile jaunt across campus with the team. It was a smaller group than usual but still fun. I had some breathing issues around miles 4-5 and had to walk a bit, but I still did OK and although I was the second to last one in (did I mention it was a small group....) I still made good time and kept my endurance up. Each week seems to be getting a litte harder, but I've been keeping up. I really have to amp up on my weekday training and really give it my all.
I'm off to Okemo for a week of skiing and I couldn't be happier!! I could use some time off from work and real life!! I've been looking into places to run and I think I have nailed down a good indoor gym. I'm hoping to get some street running in, but VT has had a ton of snow so I doubt I'll be able to.
