I'm getting chunky.
There, I said it, OUT LOUD and on my blog.
I have lost about 40 something lbs over the last year and a half or so by following a very strict formula of eliminating sugar, flour and wheat. I went off the wagon in Nov and gained about 12lbs. I'm down 5 and I need to get the rest off of me....I'm pretty content with myself, but I really want to be as healthy as possible and that means shedding the weight.
I have seemed to reverse the gain pattern, which basically meant going on a modified version of the no S/F/W program, but I wasn't loving how I was feeling. I think my body needs good old fashioned carbs, uhh, more specifically, bread....and so here I am, eating all foods, but in moderation....and praying it goes well...(I love bready, doughy goodness and tend to over induldge).
Much to my surprise, I was extra happy to read a fellow Blogger's post offering up a weight loss challenge...I'm in and ready to go! I don't really have a specific number in mind, but I figure to really be at a good weight, I should aim for about 20lbs. So that's where I'm at. 20lbs, but no pressure, no racing against the clock. I'm doing the this the good old fashioned way - less calories in, more calories out through exercise and plain commom sense. I'm also tracking my food through Daiy Plate...Let's see if I can commit to that...although for today, I kinda liked it.

Thanks for posting this, Liz. I think I might try to jump onto that blogger's weight loss contest, too. I know I have a lot of muscle from running and weight training...but, still...I'd like to lose ten pounds. I lost seven while training for the Buffalo Half-Marathon last May. The problem? I kind of kept my eating levels the same after I was no longer training for the half! Hence, those seven pounds have reattached themselves, I suspect in my hips! Thanks again, and good luck to you!
Hey... I am hoping to lose a good 15 more lbs on top of the 5 I have lost in the past 2 1/2 weeks. I am excited for Denise's challenge.
I suggested to her that if we are all in FB then we could create a group site on facebook and go back often to chat and leave encouraging comments for each other. We shall see.
Ohh...FB is a great idea!!! Let the weight loss begin!
