For posterity I guess...
I just earned the 21 day food tracking badge on Daily Plate, the only caveat is that I just added in all my food from the weekend today, but I tracked it all and didn't lie! LOL!
I ate poorly this week and still haven't weighed myself.
I'm HAPPY.
I'm a little compulsive, but am holding back (hence I did not buy the new flat screen).
I had an amazing asana practice on Saturday with Cher, which reminded me of why I love yoga. Her class was full of new and interesting twists on poses that I know so well.
I only ran one mile on the treadmill, but took 2 spin classes which I have not done in forever.
I made my Irish Oats yesterday and realized that I can live without bagels (for now).
I'm seeing a boy that makes me happy, even if he doesn't express himself, he shows up for me and sometimes that's what matters most.
Said boy is making me crazy, but I'm learning to look within, not analyze him (his head cold in no way means he wants to break up with me...oy vey!).
Again, I'm happy.
Gearing up for an even better week :)
My not always graceful journey to become a better runner, lose some weight and have some fun.

Plans People, Plans!!
I'm thinking about getting a coach, anyone want to volunteer, ya know, for free:)
Maybe someday, for now though, I am going to rely on a few online training plans and really get back to running with a club. I'm going to need the support for the NY Marathon (I have automatic entry this year). I know for me that long runs need to be done with others, or else they won't get done at all!
I also have a tri to think about, but I think I'm going to start with a really small race and if I like it increase my distance and do another one at the end of the summer. Right now it's looking like I'm going to do The Great South Bay Tri. I have heard really nice things about this course and feel like it might just be the perfect first timer race - close to home, the course is familiar, there are plenty of spectators...A good friend actually lives on the bike route.
I'm pretty much giving myself a little bit of a break with the running. I need to run, but with the messy roads and me skiing almost every weekend, it's been close to impossible. Starting next week the goal is to get 2 treadmill runs a week in, mix up the cardio with spin class and the swimming. That should keep my cardio up which will help me when the roads are clear.
Sounds like a plan!

Swim Timeeeee!
I am back on track in a pretty big way, still tracking my food, track practice on Monday, 2 yoga classes and last night I got my butt back in the pool!
I have been dying to get back in the water, but being the great procrastinator, made no effort to do so. I have been on the mailing list for OWSLI and when I got the email on Monday I decided this was the week!!
I'm so happy I went! Coach was great, everyone was super nice and I did really well! There were 5 lanes/groups - 1 and 2 were beginner, 3 was I guess more intermediate (that's where I swam) and 4 and 5 were advanced. I felt great, I was able to hold my own - even during the sprint drills I was right in line with my lane mates...so cool! Some of the drills were hard, but I have zero experience with drills, so it can only get better from here!
It's looking like I will be in the pool every Thurs...maybe even 2x per week if my schedule allows it :)

Back To The Track
I love my Long Island running community! We have so many great clubs and people and just all around good stuff happening.. It's easy to find a great local race, a club outing, various track or hill workouts, the possibilities here are endless. One of the cool things happening now are the indoor track workouts hosted by the Northport Running Club. It's chilly here so an indoor workout is much appreciated! The only downside is that the air is stale and I think I am having an allergic reaction to the rubber/latex track.
I wish I could remember the workout, but it was tough and I managed to get through just about all of it. My times were not great, but it was roughly 3 miles of speed, which even done slow was speedy enough for me! I'm hoping to make this every other week...at this point I can't do weekly, but I'm really hoping to add it into my training.
On the yoga front things are good! Fri Happy Hour with Dr. Ron and last night with Andrea. I got into assisted handstand and an amazingly long full wheel. I'm pretty excited about the headstand stuff, and just being able to practice on the regular.
As far as the 30 day food challenge - still tracking! It's amazing to really see EVERYTHING that I eat - I clearly see that I need to work on my sugar intake. It's borderline out of control! Oh, and I weighed myself last night, not pretty.

Calorie Counter! (and a challenge!!!!)
Tracking calories can be a bummer. You think you are eating OK, then bam! you are up to 2,000 calories for the day!
I am making a conscious effort to log what I eat everyday over at Daily Plate. I know that I work best with a food plan, but I just cant seem to get started, so I decided to try to eat sensibly, log everything and try to stay within my calorie goal (1380). It's been tough. I'm definitely not a restricter, that's for sure! To help me out, I made the boy finish both pints of Hagen Dazs Java Chip that he picked up for me. I probably consumed abut 1 cup out of the 2 pints, I mean,I can't possibly say no to really good ice cream!
So I guess my plan is try to eat as healthy as I can, leave in some room for sweets, stay within my calorie goal and not beat myself up if I go over! Probably easier said than done, but I'm going to do my best to stick with it. 30 day challenge anyone?? I think so!

My First Ever New Year's Post (Gah!)
I have never written a New Years post, I mean, why bother, I don't even really think about goals or resolutions for the year (well, not on Jan 1 anyway)....but since I'm all about change this year, I'm doing it...here goes....
Resolutions:
A resolve or determination: to make a firm resolution to do something. Yowza.
1. Limit my amount of cursing, especially at work. I'm a truck driver.
2. Journal write, it always helps me, which is why I'm baffled as to why I don't write more often.
3. Really commit to my fitness goals. Get back on track with food and the gym.
4. Headstand. I need this pose for 2011.
5. Say yes to more things. I have pretty much made this a life goal, why say no when yes could open up limitless possibilities? (Deep).
I'm pretty happy with my 2010. I mean, nothing terrible happened, I met a boy, we are still having wild sex (TMI?) and I ran a bunch, skiied a ton, got into full wheel and did a bunch of other cool things.
I think the biggest thing of all that I am happy about for '10 is that I tried to stay committed to everything, and when I didn't, I learned from it. That's a huge deal for me.
As far as running goals, I have the marathon in Nov, I'm planning on a few half marathons and I'm definitely in for my first tri. 2011 is shaping up to be a great year!
